CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme FTW: Performance For Any Cost
There seems to be an interesting cottage industry between custom desktop boutiques in trying to build the single fastest machine consumers can buy, and it's not at all dissimilar to the kind of competitive thinking that produces utterly impractical video cards like the AMD Radeon HD 6990 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 that threaten to populate those machines. Somewhere along the line, someone said "screw it" and decided to figure out just how much of a speed demon they could build while still being able to market and sell it to consumers and support it without tarnishing the brand. DigitalStorm has pretty aggressively held on to our "fastest computer we've ever tested" crown for a while, but CyberPowerPC looks to steal it away with their Gamer Xtreme FTW Edition.

Logitech Renovate MX518 Gaming Mouse, Results In G400
If you've got a thing for buying a new mouse every time a new one hits the market, you may need to find another hobby. The mice are crawling out of their holes at an alarming rate these days -- between Logitech, Razer, Microsoft and SteelSeries, it's hard to even keep track of these tracking devices. Logi is on deck this time with a newcomer, the Optical Gaming Mouse G400. It's said to be the follow-up mouse to the MX518, which currently sits as the company's best-ever selling gaming mouse. Needless to say, those are big shoes to fill.

Industry Analyst Declares Wii U "Two Years Too Late"
Video game industry analyst Michael Pachter has a reputation for accurate sales forecasts and an ability to predict changes in console pricing. That said, Pachter may have gone a bridge too far with his bifurcated discussion concerning Nintendo's Wii U. While he praised the Wii U as "the most impactful reveal of the show," Pachter has declared the Wii U brand unimaginative and implied it qualified as a "worst ever."
The real criticism, however, is reserved for Nintendo's hardware decisions. "We think that Wii U is arriving two years late, given that the other HD consoles already have peripherals for movement," said Pachter, reasoning that since Nintendo didn't get specific about tech specs, the Wii U "is unlikely to provide greater power than the current HD consoles." His argument is that Nintendo is giving up a massive 'first mover' advantage, and handing whatever power it might have garnered back to its top two rivals. MS and Sony, he figures, will have cut prices on the XBox 360 Kinect and PS3 Move to the point where they'll undercut Nintendo's 2012 Wii U launch.
