AMD Talked About the Upcoming Graphic Cards and Reveals A Totally New Architecture

During AMD Fusion event for developers AMD talked about the new upcoming architecture for HD7xxx graphic cards or whose named southern island, seemingly that AMD has decided to give up its old designs and go through a new adventure with an entirely new architecture.

For a long time AMD intended to evolve its old architecture which depends on VLIW and it was until HD 5xxx series designs five units of computing VLIW and then in HD69xx cards AMD used four units of computing VLIW for the first time.

But this time AMD surprised us with a radical change to distribute SIMD instructions and it separated the four units of computing VLIW and compose four SIMD separated lines, what AMD did although if seems simple it is more complicated than it seems, in other words AMD will leave abandon designing the VLIW in their upcoming graphic cards.
